| Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why can't I stay at a different Las Vegas hotel?
A. Vacations-Hawaii is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boyd Gaming Corporation,
which owns and operates a family of quality hotels and casinos in Las Vegas
and elsewhere. We offer discounted charter flights to Las Vegas as an exclusive
benefit to our hotel guests. By booking your Las Vegas stay through Vacations-Hawaii,
you have the opportunity to stay and play at the best for less.
Q. Are there any additional fees that I might be charged?
A. Once your tickets have been issued, you may be assessed the following
fees, depending upon the circumstances:
$25 Re-issue Fee
If your documents have been lost, or if youve made changes to your hotel
destination, this fee covers the cost of re-issuing any or all of your documents.
$25 Name Change Fee
This fee applies if you change the name of any person traveling in your group.
It is applied once for each name change.
$15 Rush Document Fee
This fee is charged if special handling or express delivery services are required
in order to expedite bookings made close to the departure date.
$15 Airport Pickup Fee
This fee covers the cost of special handling required to have your tickets available
for you to pick up at the airport.
$75 Cancellation Fee
If you cancel your reservation 22 days or more prior to departure, you will be
charged a $75 cancellation fee. Cancellations made 21 days or less prior to departure
are non-refundable. Please review our Cancellations
Policy for more details.
Q. Why dont children pay less for airfare than adults?
A. Our travel packages are designed primarily for adults to enjoy the gaming
opportunities Las Vegas has to offer. We create attractive rates for those packages
by discounting the cost of our hotel rooms. But everyone, including children,
pays the full cost of the airfare. (Note that only adults pay for the room and
meal package.)
Q. Why can't I extend my stay?
A. Our travel packages were designed to suit the gaming patterns of our
Hawaii clients. By creating itineraries that fit the needs of a large population
of travelers, we are able to offer Las Vegas trips for less. If you need to stay
longer, check out our Custom Packages. These
packages allow you to make stop-overs, extend your stay, choose a different airline
all while saving money. Call us today for more information.
Q. Why do you want my Players Gold numbers?
A. If youre a frequent visitor to the Boyds family of Las Vegas
casinos, you may be eligible for discounts and other great benefits that youre
not currently receiving. We want to make sure that you receive all of the benefits
to which you are entitled. Your Players Gold numbers help us understand your preferences
and provide you with the best possible service.
Q. Can I fly First Class?
A. Yes! We offer large leather seats with leg rests, delicious hot meals served on china, pre-boarding, complimentary beverages and headsets and other amenities for our First Class passengers. We are also now offering Premium Class with upgraded meals, complimentary beverages and headsets and extra leg room.
Q. Why do your prices change over time?
A. We operate our charter flights at little or no profit as a benefit to
our Las Vegas travelers. We encourage people to make their reservations early
by discounting our package prices the further away your travel date, the
greater the discount. As the departure date approaches and the flights fill up,
our prices increase because they are discounted less.
Q. Why are the packages non-refundable?
A. Vacations-Hawaii must pay for each seat on the aircraft even if it is
empty. If for some reason you must cancel within 21 days of departure and we are
unable to fill the aircraft, we cannot refund your payment. (This is clearly stated
in the Tour Participants Agreement.) We are pleased to offer optional Cancellation
Insurance at a very reasonable cost. This insurance covers the cost of your travel
package in the event that you must cancel. (Some restrictions apply.)
Q. Where can I use my meal coupons?
A. Your meal coupons will be honored for daily specials in designated restaurants
at any of our five Las Vegas hotels. They may also be applied to the various buffets
for a small additional charge. If you have received complimentary rooms from one of the Boyd properties, your meal plan may differ.
Q. Why don't children receive meal coupons?
A. We offer our customers meal coupons as an additional incentive to stay
and play at our Las Vegas casinos. Federal law prohibits us from offering these
incentives to anyone under 21 years of age.
Q. What is a Single Supplement cost?
A. Our travel packages are priced primarily with double occupancy in mind.
When there is only one adult per room, the full cost of the hotel room is not
shared by two persons. The Single Supplement cost is necessary to offset this
difference.
Q. Someone wants to travel with me, but we want an additional
room. How can we do this?
A. When making a new reservation, indicate how many travelers and rooms
you would like when searching for an appropriate travel package.
To add an additional room to an existing unpaid reservation
via our online booking system, you must first cancel your original reservation
and make a new reservation at the current price for the appropriate number of
travelers and rooms.
If you've already paid for your travel package, you may follow
the previously mentioned procedure; however, cancellation fees may apply. To avoid
the cancellation fee, you may call Vacations-Hawaii to request an additional room,
but will be assessed a $25 re-issue fee for each person changing rooms as new
tickets will need to be issued.
Q. Can I change travel dates?
A. When you book a Vacations-Hawaii travel package, it is for a specific
flight on a certain date. To change travel dates, you must cancel your original
reservation and make a new reservation at the current price. If you've already
paid for your travel package, cancellation fees may apply.
Q. Why should I purchase cancellation insurance?
A. Cancellation Insurance is offered to protect your travel investment.
Should an emergency arise that prevents you from traveling, and that emergency
is of a type covered by the insurance, the insurance company will reimburse you
the price of your package (less any discounts you may have received). Remember
that in most cases, these emergencies tend to arise after the refund cut-off date
of 21 days prior to departure - so the small added cost of insurance can be a
worthwhile investment.
Q. What is the Baggage Allowance?
A. Carry-on limited to one carry-on per person, provided it will sit in the overhead bin or under the seat. (9 X 13 X 21). Any carry-on which cannot be properly stowed in this manner, will be removed from the passenger compartment and reloaded as checked baggage in the cargo compartments.
Baggage allowance: Each passenger is allowed to check in two pieces of checked luggage, with each piece not to exceed 62 linear inches, nor weigh more than 50 pounds. Excess luggage will be charged at a rate of $50 per excess piece weighing
between 50 and 70 pounds or for any piece in excess of two pieces. Any piece of baggage weighing more than 70 pounds will not be accepted.
